Shazma Palliagath, MA, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (she/her)

Hello and welcome! My name is Shazma Palliagath and I am here to provide you with a safe and nurturing space where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions without judgment. I align myself as a person-centered therapist dedicated to supporting individuals through their unique journeys towards healing and self-discovery.

As a person-centered therapist, I firmly believe in the power of a strong therapeutic alliance built on empathy, understanding, and genuine care. My approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert of your own life, and I am here to walk alongside you as you navigate the challenges you face. Together, we will collaboratively explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, aiming to foster self-awareness, personal growth, and inner resilience.

I specialize in working with clients who are grappling with anxiety, depression, grief, postpartum depression, family/marital issues, and a range of other emotional concerns. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals find their inner strength and develop coping strategies to manage these difficulties effectively.

My practice is deeply inclusive, and I welcome individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their cultural or ethnic background, gender, age, or sexual orientation. I have a particular affinity for working with immigrants, women, and adolescents/teens. I understand the unique challenges that can arise from these diverse experiences and am committed to creating a culturally sensitive and empowering therapeutic environment.

For those who find solace and strength in spirituality, I am open to incorporating spiritual aspects into our counseling sessions. I respect all religious and spiritual beliefs, and I’m here to provide guidance and support that aligns with your personal values and convictions.

In our sessions, you can expect a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental atmosphere where your feelings and experiences are valued. We will work collaboratively to set goals, explore underlying issues, and develop practical strategies to enhance your well-being. My aim is to create a space where you can freely express yourself, find clarity, and develop a deeper sense of self-acceptance.

If you are ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, growth, and healing, I am here to support you every step of the way by starting with a free consultation.
