Authenticity over expectations. Connection without judgment. Growth beyond shame.

Hi, I'm Michaella, also known as Mika. Sometimes, navigating the world means feeling pressured to hide parts of ourselves, meet certain expectations, or fit into spaces that don't fully embrace who we are. I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without fear of judgment or pressure to fit into someone else's expectations. My goal is to create a warm, genuine, and affirming environment where you feel safe enough to be vulnerable, explore your experiences, and embrace your authentic self.

As a Hispanic therapist, I recognize how our identities, relationships, cultural backgrounds, and societal expectations can shape the way we see ourselves and connect with others. I bring curiosity, compassion, and authenticity into the therapy room, recognizing that you are the expert on your own experiences. Rather than telling you how to live or who to become, I believe in working alongside you to better understand your patterns, challenge shame, and discover what growth and healing look like for you.

I'm especially passionate about supporting:

  • Neurodivergent individuals, including autistic folks, those with ADHD, and those exploring their neurodivergence

  • LGBTQIA+ individuals exploring identity, sexuality, and relationships

  • People exploring polyamory, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), and diverse relationship structures

  • Couples and multi-partner relationships navigating communication, boundaries, and connection

  • Individuals seeking kink-affirming and sex-positive therapy

  • Those navigating anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and self-worth

  • Individuals exploring cultural identity, family expectations, and intergenerational patterns

  • Anyone seeking greater self-acceptance, authenticity, and freedom from shame

My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring our work to your unique strengths, values, and goals. Above all, I strive to meet you where you are, honoring your experiences while helping you build a more compassionate and fulfilling relationship with yourself and others.

If you're looking for a space to feel seen, understood, and accepted as you are, I'd love to connect and explore what healing looks like for you.
